Episode 1: Getting to know me and my story about dealing with body dysmorphia

Hi everyone, welcome to the first episode of the You Define Beauty podcast! On this episode, we talk about what we’re going to learn on this podcast, and then I tell you about my story. I am Angelique Cauterucci and I am your host! We also touch on different ways to gain confidence and ways to gain self-esteem, but this first podcast was to really teach you about my story, and what I am going to talk about on future episodes! 

Episode 2: Realizing your body is beautiful just the way it is with Kate Byrne

This episode touches on a lot of different things, but it all comes down to trying not to compare yourself to others. I know it's hard everybody does it but my friend Kate Byrne and I talk about ways to realize that you're body is beautiful just the way it is, and you don't need to be perfect nobody's perfect, but nobody is you either. Everybody is different in their own unique ways, and this episode really touches on all those different unique ways, and things that we have about ourselves. I'm so thankful to have one of my best friends Kate on this episode with me! It really shows you another person's perspective on how they feel about their body as well.

In this episode, I provide a thorough explanation on the significance of monthly goals in aiding you to achieve your grandest dreams and ambitions. While many individuals possess lofty objectives, they often lack a clear direction or starting point. Therefore, setting small monthly goals allows you to recognize that there are actionable steps towards attaining your ultimate destination. I delve into the specifics of what these goals should encompass and their positive impact on your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.




Episode 4: Discussing how experience make us into the people we are today with Aditi Das

Greetings everyone! Today, we are excited to have Aditi Das, one of my closest friends, join us as she opens up about her experiences with body dysmorphia. Our conversation revolves around the notion that it is perfectly normal to occasionally struggle with accepting our bodies, for this journey is filled with both highs and lows. Aditi's story resonates with mine to a great extent, as we both share a background in gymnastics. However, we also acknowledge our individual differences, recognizing that although no two stories are identical, common themes can always be found.

Episode 5: Discussing the impact of mental illnesses on self-perception and diminished confidence with Belle Nicholas 

Hello everyone, I would like to start by apologizing for not sharing an episode last month. However, I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to invite Belle Nicholes to discuss her organization, Shout Our Struggle, which emphasizes raising awareness about mental health. I am truly thankful for her presence on my podcast as we explicitly addressed the impact of low confidence and an unassured body image and explored ways to transform one's self-perception. We delved into various resources and techniques to initiate the process of enhancing confidence and body image, acknowledging the formidable challenges involved. Nonetheless, please know that both Belle and I are always available to offer support.

Episode 6: Reflecting on previous experiences and acknowledging the transformative power of self-assurance in shaping self-perception with Amanda Peacock

In this episode, I have invited Amanda Peacock to discuss our personal encounters with low self-esteem and negative body image. We acknowledge the significant impact it has had on our mental and physical well-being. We delve into the notion that having confidence not only positively affects one's own life, but also influences those around them! 

Episode 7: How to maintain a healthy relationship with your body with Elizabeth Mendel

An episode you don’t want to miss! Sharing her personal journey with an eating disorder, she emphasizes that it is a continuous struggle that can be managed by establishing healthy eating habits and striving for overall well-being, including mental and emotional wellness. Additionally, she advocates for open conversations about eating disorders within the community, using her own story to raise awareness among her audience! 

Episode 8: Gaining knowledge about recognizing when self-help is necessary and understanding the art of listening to your body with Alexandra Diaz

Come join Alexandra and me as we discuss the experience of dealing with body dysmorphia and mental health challenges in our early teenage years. We will explore strategies for understanding your body's needs and promoting overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Additionally, we will address the impact of social media, highlighting its potential role as a leading factor in body dysmorphia and low self-esteem when not utilized positively.

Episode 9: Using resources such as Project well-z to begin improving how you feel and becoming your best self, with Zoe Schack 

In this episode, Zoe discusses her nonprofit organization and the ways in which she supports the mental health of young people nationwide. We touch on her journey of starting the organization and achieving recognition at both state and national levels. She discusses her goal of making a positive difference in students who are facing mental health challenges and we also talk about the difficulties of being a young entrepreneur in charge of a nonprofit like ours. We believe it's more important to stand out and make a difference rather than blend into a crowd where nobody pays attention. 

Episode 10: Seeing a deferent prospective on life with someone with a chronic illness with Amanda kaplan 

Amanda and I discussed her experience growing up and coming to terms with having a chronic illness. We talked about the challenges of determining what it is because it involves trying various treatments with different doctors and seeking multiple perspectives. We also touched on the emotional and physical toll of sharing your experiences with medical professionals and others to help them understand your feelings. We agreed that although you may be different from others, it is important to embrace your uniqueness and remember that everyone has their own story, so it is important not to judge someone based on appearances. 

Eposode 11: Only you know your insecurities with Brooke Meisenhelter

As we enter a room, our minds often jump to the assumption that everyone can see our deepest insecurities. However, this is not the reality. Brooke and I discuss the importance of recognizing our self-worth, as being comfortable and confident in ourselves can shield us from dwelling on negative comments from others. It may take time to fully embrace our worth, but it is a journey that requires patience and faith in ourselves. Taking things one step at a time and prioritizing our belief in our strength can help us overcome any hurtful comments directed towards us.

Eposode 12: How the Miss America Opportunity can contribute to fostering a healthy lifestyle with Ashley Greco 

During this episode, Ashley and I discuss how the Miss America program has influenced our personal growth and development. We touch upon topics such as self-confidence, motivation, leadership, and overall well-being. We also delve into Ashley's experience as Miss New Jersey's Teen and the positive impact she has had in her community. The Miss America organization not only helps young women discover their passions, but also fosters lasting friendships. I am grateful to say that Ashley is one of my closest friends from this program!


Eposode 13: Everything happens for a reason 

In this episode, I discuss two stories where I initially felt defeated but ultimately gained confidence and success from those setbacks. Your most challenging experiences in life shape who you become. Just because things don't go as planned doesn't mean that something better isn't on the horizon. I emphasize the importance of trusting the journey and finding the silver lining in difficult situations.

Eposode 14: Join Abigail Mignucci and I as we work to eliminate the stigma surrounding Mental Health

In this episode,  Abigail and I share our personal experiences with mental health challenges and how we continue to manage those feelings today. We also explore the importance of promoting self-acceptance in the next generation and discuss the tools we use to empower young people to embrace their worth. By sharing our stories, we hope to shift perspectives on mental health and make a positive impact on others.

Episode 15: "I don't need easy, I need possible" with Jade Glab

In this episode, we will discuss how dedication and confidence are key elements in achieving your goals and ultimately succeeding. We acknowledge that there may be more setbacks than victories along the way, but it is important to view these setbacks as opportunities for growth. By learning from defeat, you can identify your weaknesses and strive to become a better version of yourself. It all comes down to your mindset after facing defeat - viewing it as a stepping stone towards personal growth. Once you reach your goals, you will have grown significantly and the accomplishment will be all the more meaningful because of the challenges you overcame.
